Community celebrates Omaha’s fifth annual Juneteenth JoyFest

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Music, dancing and vendors filled 24th Street in front of The Union for Contemporary Art on Saturday, not far from where founder Alajia McKizia started this festival five years ago.

“It was just a way to bring back the music and arts cultural live scene that used to exist on 24th Street” Alajia said.

“We just want to honor the past while bringing in the present and the future.”…
