Omaha, Neb. – Damaging thunderstorms packing 70+ mph winds and hail up to 1.5 inches are expected to sweep across eastern Nebraska late Sunday night into early Monday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, the highest risk window stretches from 10 p.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Monday, with widespread severe storms likely developing overnight. Isolated, less intense cells may form earlier in the evening, but the more dangerous round is expected after midnight.
Areas under a Level 2 “Slight Risk” include Lincoln, Omaha, and southeast Nebraska counties near the Missouri River. Primary hazards include damaging straight-line winds and large hail.
