LINCOLN, Neb. — Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Dr. Janee Pannkuk of Omaha as the new chairperson of the Nebraska Board of Parole. Her six-year term on the five-member board will commence on July 1.
Dr. Pannkuk brings over 30 years of experience in the justice system, with a focus on youth advocacy and program development in Douglas County. She has spent the past three years with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, initially serving as assistant warden at the Nebraska Correctional Youth Facility and most recently as the assistant deputy director for reentry services.
Previously, Dr. Pannkuk was the executive director of Operation Youth Success, where she utilized research, data analysis, and input from over 200 community stakeholders to create and implement a plan to reduce the number of justice-involved juveniles in Douglas County.
