OFD crews fight third fire in five months at former Legacy Crossing apartments

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Fire Department was called to the third fire in nearly five months at a troubled apartment complex early Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to the fire at the former Legacy Crossing apartments, now named Highpoint Apartments, near 106th and Fort streets at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Crews arrived to find smoke in the building and a fire in one of the apartments, according to a report. The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes…
