OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A facility designed to treat mental health disorders among Douglas County inmates hit a major milestone Wednesday.
“There’s a lot of people who come to jail that, if they weren’t mentally ill, they probably wouldn’t have their law violation,” said Mike Myers, Director of Corrections.
Construction is underway on a new building that will provide proper mental health care for incarcerated individuals. On Wednesday, crews placed the final beam on the structure.
