Omaha protests push representatives to change vote on ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Wednesday, two separate protests were held on Dodge Street in Omaha pushing the same message for Nebraska’s representatives to have a change of heart and vote no on a massive federal budget bill.

Protestors at 72nd and Dodge carried signs and echoed chants of “no tax cuts for corporations” and “keep funding healthcare.” The demonstration was hosted by the Nebraska Democratic Party along with many local organizations like Omaha NAACP, Black Church PAC, Eastern NE Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ and Nebraskans for Palestine.

“Its not a winning situation at all,” said Anna Hernandez of Pase La Voz Nebraska. “There are a lot of families who will be on the short end of the stick if this passes.”…
