NWS expects severe weather doubleheader

(Valley) — Get ready for more severe weather in KMAland–with two storm systems expected the next two days.

After a line of strong storms moved through southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa early Thursday morning, conditions are ripe for more activity. Chris Franks is meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Valley, Nebraska office. Franks tells KMA News round one fires up in northeast Nebraska late Thursday (this) afternoon, then rolls into eastern Nebraska and western Iowa in the evening hours.

“It’ll be a little bit of a later show,” said Franks. “So, it’ll be more really later afternoon-evening, then it’s going to take some time to work its way across eastern Nebraska, and then into southwest Iowa. After dark, it looks like for Shenandoah, southwest Iowa, Omaha metro–all those locations–it’ll be a start time about 9 or 10 p.m. all the way through midnight to 1 a.m. is when it kind of rolls through, as it gradually kind of moves through north to south across the area.”…
