OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha has filed a lawsuit against an Omaha-based construction company, claiming it caused millions in damages to infrastructure, according to court records.
MUD filed the lawsuit in Douglas County District Court Friday against Hawkins Construction Company, seeking $3.4 million in costs to repair property and infrastructure, plus $1.9 million in repair costs.
According to the complaint, MUD claims Hawkins was awarded a contract in June 2022 to replace existing piping for the Minne Lusa High Service Pump Station near the Florence Water Treatment Plant.
