Flight from Omaha to Detroit diverted after reports say unruly passenger tried to open exit row door, 1 person arrested

(WWJ) A flight headed to Detroit Metro Airport was forced to make an unscheduled landing due to an unruly passenger.

Officials said a SkyWest flight, that took off in Omaha, Nebraska, had to be diverted to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at around 6:15 p.m. Thursday as the crew dealt with an in-air disturbance involving a passenger.

According to Cedar Rapids Police, the passenger — 23-year-old Mario Nikprelaj of Nebraska — was arrested at the Eastern Iowa Airport and booked in the Linn County, Iowa, Correctional Center…
