‘Good Trouble Lives On’: Omaha-area orgs participate in day of action honoring John Lews

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha-area organizations and citizens participated in the “Good Trouble Lives On” a national day of action that honors the late Congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis.

Along with the demonstration, a donation drive was hosted to help Omaha families impacted by the Glenn Valley Food ICE raid in June. A second “Good Trouble Lives On” protest was held at Heartland of America Park.

The South Omaha Youth Empowerment Project or SOYEP was formed shortly after the raid. It’s a collection of South Omaha youth who wanted to help make a difference…
