(KMAland) — Even in a time of high prices, U.S. cattle producers need to have the opportunity to add value to their animals.
Sara Cover, the supplier development program manager for the Greater Omaha Packing Plant, talks about the company’s Hereford Affidavit Program that launched in late February.
“We worked with the American Hereford Association to build this new Hereford Affidavit, which is super easy to implement. From a sale barn perspective, the customers that they’re consigning, the commercial cow-calf man, gets an affidavit, either in paper form or a DocuSign, and then proves that their cattle are 50 percent Hereford genetics sired by a registered Hereford animal, and they can sell those with the affidavit attached.”…
