Suspect Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting in Council Bluffs

(Council Bluffs, Iowa) Authorities are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Council Bluffs following a traffic stop Wednesday evening.

The incident began around 6 p.m. when an individual allegedly brandished a shotgun at an Iowa State Patrol trooper. A chase ensued and ended about 30 minutes later near the Pottawattamie County Jail, in the area of Interstate 29 and North 16th Street in Council Bluffs.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded, and the situation concluded with the suspect being shot and killed. No officers were injured…
