Omaha, Neb. – Strong thunderstorms are expected to sweep across Nebraska tonight, bringing the threat of damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall during the overnight hours. The most active period is forecast between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., with northeast Nebraska facing the greatest risk of severe weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, storms could produce wind gusts up to 65 mph and hail as large as 1.5 inches. A 50 to 70 percent chance of thunderstorms continues into early Wednesday, with a small but notable 5 to 10 percent chance of an isolated severe storm developing in northeast counties.
