Today in History – Sept. 18: Henry Doorly Zoo helps injured eagle back into wild

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – On this day back in 2017, an injured eagle was released back into the wild, thanks in part to a Henry Doorly Zoo veterinarian.

“Bolt” caught national attention after he was rescued by local fishermen, and his head wound stumped experts.

A Fontenelle Forest volunteer diagnosed it as an electrical burn and offered her expertise…
