Nebraska State Auditor alleges thousands in fraud by ‘rogue’ state agency director

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A report released by Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley is alleging fraud by the former executive director of a small state agency, resulting in tens of thousands of dollars lost.

The Abstracters Board of Examiners is a small state agency which monitors the proper filing of titles on real estate sales, and was recently audited by Foley’s office after receiving a tip.

Now, Foley is accusing the “rogue” executive director of padding his work hours “enormously” between May 2024 to June 2025, while also working another job at Albireo Energy in Omaha and simultaneously reporting false hours there as well…
