LINCOLN, Neb. — The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Norberto Martinez of Omaha after discovering 40 pounds of methamphetamine in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Interstate 80. Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said the drugs were found in the trunk, sealed in a garbage bag.
“This was a very, very good stop cause these drugs were going to be in Omaha, Nebraska, which we all know they get distributed all over and probably were going to be coming to Lincoln too,” said Houchin.
A firearm was also discovered in the vehicle’s console. However, a passenger, believed to be from Omaha, fled the scene on foot and remains at large. Houchin expressed confidence in apprehending the suspect, stating, “We do have several leads left so that we’re following up on. I feel very strongly that we will be able to figure out who it is and we will make an arrest.”…
