OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The 31-year-old arrested as a suspect in a downtown shooting over the weekend was in court on Tuesday morning.
Khyre Holbert is facing charges of first-degree assault, using a firearm to commit a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
If he’s convicted, the assault charge could send Holbert to prison for up to 50 years.
Court records show he had been serving time for selling crack and that he’s been convicted twice on firearm possession charges. His sentence was among the more than 2,000 non-violent drug offenders commuted by President Biden in January, which reduced his sentence but did not remove his status as a convicted felon…
