The University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) Jazz Ensemble will hold a CD release concert for their new Latin Jazz Big Band album, Somos UNO, on November 18, 2025. The event will feature musician Dr. José Valentino, a Latin Grammy Award winner. It will begin at 7:30 PM in the Jan and John Christensen Concert Hall at UNO’s Strauss Performing Arts Center. The Metropolitan Area Youth Jazz Orchestra (MAYJO) will open the concert.
The event schedule includes a 3:00 PM workshop about the making of Somos UNO, a 6:30 PM album playback, and a post-concert reception with a CD signing. The album features cover art by Pablo Atchugarry and combines Latin jazz and big band music. Admission is pay-what-you-can…
