(Council Bluffs) — Council Bluffs authorities have released more information after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday evening.
Council Bluffs Police say officers were called to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of 8th Street and Kanesville Boulevard. Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed a 2009 Kia Sportage, driven by 72-year-old Dennis Stark of Council Bluffs, was headed eastbound through the intersection with a yellow light when he struck a pedestrian, later identified as 47-year-old Heidi Divis of Omaha. Police say Divis was crossing Kanesville northbound against the walk signal.
