Sidney Man Arrested After Violent Domestic Incident, Threats, and Assault on Deputies

SIDNEY, Iowa — The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Trevor James Hogrefe, 26, of Sidney, following a multi-day investigation into a series of domestic assaults, violent threats, and child endangerment incidents.

Authorities launched the investigation on November 7, 2025, after receiving reports from a victim describing months of escalating abuse and threats. Investigators say Hogrefe also allegedly made threats to kill a former associate and another individual in September 2025, while armed with a firearm and expressing intent to carry out the act.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hogrefe additionally threatened law enforcement officers if they were contacted. A warrant was issued, and he was located and arrested in Council Bluffs on November 7
