OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Douglas County Sheriff is looking for two men who allegedly drove away as a deputy approached their vehicle in church parking lot on Thursday night.
DCSO said in a social media post that a deputy saw a Jeep with no license plates sitting in the parking lot of Omaha Bible Church, located near 78th and State streets, at about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
“This parking lot houses a storage crate that the church uses for storage that has previously been broken into,” the DCSO post states.
As the deputy approached the vehicle, he reportedly saw drug paraphernalia inside and told the driver to turn off the vehicle. Instead, the driver took off “at a high rate of speed,” DCSO said in the post.
Anyone who recognizes the driver, the passenger, or the vehicle is asked to call the DCSO Tip Line at 402-444-6000 or send an email at [email protected]. Tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP (7867), online at omahacrimestoppers.org or on the P3 Tips mobile app…
