COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Police say arrest warrants are being sought for a Council Bluffs man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a motorcycle in an October 18 hit-and-run that killed 17-year-old Hayden Baker. Authorities say the suspect, 52-year-old Jason Lee Evans, had a blood-alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit.
The Council Bluffs Police Department announced late Friday morning that charges are pending for 52-year-old Jason Lee Evans, who investigators say was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that rear-ended a motorcycle on October 18th, fatally injuring 17-year-old Hayden Baker of Council Bluffs.

Toxicology results revealed Evans’ blood-alcohol concentration was almost four times the legal limit, and police say marijuana was also present in his system the night of the crash. The pickup involved reportedly left the scene immediately after the collision.
Hayden had been riding his motorcycle to pick up his mother from work when the crash occurred. According to family members, he later died after being placed on life support and donating his organs.

Evans is expected to face charges including:
- Homicide by Vehicle – OWI (Class B Felony)
- Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Crash (Class C Felony)
