Omaha-Area Drivers Face Icy Conditions as Winter Storm Leaves Hazardous Roads

Omaha, NE – Drivers across eastern Nebraska are urged to use caution as many highways and rural roads remain snow and ice covered following the latest round of winter weather.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, several counties across eastern and southeastern Nebraska continue to report hazardous travel conditions, with slick and partially covered roadways stretching from Omaha to Lincoln and north toward Norfolk.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation’s 511 map shows extensive snow and ice coverage (highlighted in pink and blue) across key corridors, including Highways 81, 77, and 30, as well as portions of Interstate 80.
