OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Nebraska education officials are working to overhaul the state’s school funding formula after a $30 million error overpaid Omaha Public Schools last month.
The Nebraska Department of Education has outlined a three-phase approach to address problems with the current funding system and prevent similar mistakes.
Phase one has been completed after starting in August, with the department studying current problems with the funding formula and reviewing the history of how schools have been funded.
