Omaha Police Officers and Local Resident Injured in Two Shootings; Suspect Fatally Shot by Police

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released information about a shooting in Omaha, Nebraska, involving Juan Ayala Ramos, a citizen of El Salvador.

On December 3, 2024, Ayala Ramos shot and seriously injured a 61-year-old man, Michael Kasper, and four Omaha police officers in two separate incidents. The first shooting occurred while Kasper was loading groceries outside a store.
