Lincoln Police has arrested a man in connection with a pedestrian crash November 15th that killed 61-year-old Kristine Hess of Omaha. Police say she was struck by a vehicle at 48th and St. Paul around 10:45 a.m.
On December 19th, 33-year-old Cesar Leos of Lincoln, was cited and released for misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide. LPD says Hess was crossing the street when she was struck by a flatbed tow truck. Hess was the director of operations for Civic Nebraska and the organization said she was struck while walking to one of their events.
When officers arrived, officers contacted passerby’s who were rendering aid to the woman . Police say she died from her injuries and the driver of the truck was cooperating with the investigation. “Kris was warm, thoughtful, and deeply committed to work that strengthens community and lifts up every voice,” Civic Nebraska said in a statement…
