OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Shanda Kohler, a South Omaha community advocate who spent years helping neighbors through her Facebook page “We Are South Omaha,” died suddenly from influenza A. She was 51.
Family members said Kohler died within hours of becoming sick last week. More than 4,000 people followed her Facebook page, where she organized fundraising efforts and assistance for community members in need.
