LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) – A 63-year-old man serving a life sentence for murder died at the Nebraska correctional treatment center on New Year’s Day.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said in a news release Friday that Vern Krimmel was receiving treatment for a medical condition, but that his cause of death at the Reception and Treatment Center had not yet been determined.
Krimmel was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder handed down in Douglas County in April 1983.
