OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – FBI officials in Omaha say there was a surge in activity in 2025. They said working in concert with local law enforcement agencies helped deal with positive outcomes, keeping our community and the country safe.
Some of the cases local FBI officials had to deal with were startling. This summer a human trafficking ring right here in Omaha was busted up.
“We served together with 13 other agencies, 300 other law enforcement partners to dismantle human trafficking and labor trafficking conspiracies involving hotels in our area and five individuals were arrested. That’s a major case that can really impact the quality of life for individuals in that case, 10 minor children were rescued from a labor trafficking conspiracy,” said Eugene Kowel, special agent in charge of the Omaha field office.
