Man arrested in Council Bluffs transferred to Omaha on murder charge

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man arrested in Council Bluffs last week on a murder warrant in Omaha has been transferred to the Douglas County Jail.

The arrest affidavit for Damaree Amos, 21, is sealed regarding the August homicide of Chance McCowin, 22, – but a related search warrant is not.

Amos faces charges of 2nd-degree murder, two counts of 1st-degree assault, and three counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony.

According to the Omaha Police Department, officers investigated a shooting at Kelly’s Package Liquor on Aug. 4.
