Blair mother sentenced for leaving children in hot car

BLAIR, Neb. (WOWT) – A Blair mother accused of endangering her two children was sentenced in court on Tuesday.

Tanya Knudsen, 37, previously pleaded guilty to charges of intentional child abuse without injury in Washington County Court. She was sentenced to 18 months of probation.

In August, Blair police reported a Washington County Sheriff’s Office sergeant found two children crying and screaming inside a car. Police said the vehicle was locked and not running.

The children, ages 3 and 16 months old, were removed from the car and hospitalized with signs of heat exposure. Officers then arrested Knudsen…
