Iowa DNR delays trout stocking due to extreme cold

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has announced it is delaying previously planned trout stockings at three locations this week because of extreme cold and high winds.

Trout stockings were scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd, at Bacon Creek Lake in Sioux City, and at Mooreland Pond in Fort Dodge and Big Lake in Council Bluffs for Friday, January 23rd. On Wednesday, the DNR announced the stockings are being postponed.
