Omaha man convicted of fentanyl distribution causing death

OMAHA, Neb. — Paul “Tony” Billingsley, 65, of Omaha, was found guilty of distributing fentanyl resulting in death, following a jury trial in Omaha, Nebraska. The conviction stems from a May 6, 2024, incident where Billingsley sold fentanyl to co-defendant Elissa Larson, who then distributed it to a victim who overdosed and died. Billingsley was also convicted of a separate fentanyl distribution charge from May 24, 2024.

Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. presided over the trial. Billingsley faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years and a maximum of life in prison for the distribution causing death charge, and up to 20 years for the other distribution charge.
