Groundhog Day, Nebraska Style
Happy Groundhog Day! While Punxsutawney Phil grabs national headlines, Nebraskans have their own traditions just an hour from Omaha. The village of Unadilla is officially known as the “Groundhog Capital of Nebraska,” hosting an annual Groundhog Day celebration. Shadow or no shadow, this year’s festivities are set for Feb. 7, featuring a 2-block parade with a Groundhog King and Queen, a craft/flea market, bake sale, silent auction, and more.
