Lewis Central girls bowling to make fifth straight trip to state

(Council Bluffs) — Lewis Central girls bowling is on its way to state for a fifth consecutive year.

The Titans didn’t have their best game this past Monday at their regional, but Coach Paul Renshaw’s squad had just enough to land a runner-up finish and state qualification.

“We had our worst showing of the year at districts,” Renshaw said. “Out of 15 Baker games, just under one-third of our frames were open. And in the sport of bowling an open frame costs you 10 pins. We had 63 open frames, so we had anywhere from 630 to 700 pins left on the lanes. So, there is some room for improvement in that regard.”…
