OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A neighborhood safety meeting Tuesday night to discuss short term rentals in Omaha drew more people than expected.
The meeting comes after residents in an Omaha neighborhood south of Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery say a short-term rental on their street has been the source of late-night traffic and strangers for months.
The owner rents out rooms nightly and does not live at the property. Neighbors’ concerns reached a new level about a week ago when police said a man died in the rental from a suspected overdose.
