Omaha firefighter dies after battle with cancer, OFD says

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha Fire Department says a firefighter has died after a battle with cancer.

A social media post from the Omaha Professional Fire Fighters Association sent Friday also says Fire Captain John Olson, a 22-year veteran of the department, had died.

The Association says Olson “…served the citizens of Omaha with courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public safety.”…
