COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — An 18-year-old Council Bluffs man was arrested early February 13 after allegedly assaulting a victim and briefly escaping from police custody, according to the Council Bluffs Police Department.
According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, officers were called at 5:56 a.m. to the 3000 block of Avenue E for a welfare check. Officers located a male and female connected to the call in the area of the 2900 block of Avenue B.
Police determined that Marcus Colanino, 18, of Council Bluffs, would be charged with domestic assault stemming from the incident. Authorities said Colanino was placed in handcuffs but broke free while being directed toward a patrol vehicle.
