OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A Mexican national living in Council Bluffs was sentenced last week in federal court to nine years on meth charges after admitting to distributing at least 25 pounds of meth in the Omaha metro.
Rodrigo Alejandro Muniz, 27, of Mexico City, told authorities he had distributed at least 25 pounds of methamphetamine directly from Mexico in the last six months, mostly in the Omaha area. Federal court records show Muniz had been the main courier in a supply chain delivering meth from Mexico to users in Omaha and Council Bluffs since 2021.
“Customers will call the source and order the drugs, who will then send a courier to meet them and complete the transaction,” according to a Wednesday news release from U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods’ office. “…Phone messages confirmed he was working for and being directed by the Mexican source of supply.”…
