OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A vacant building on North 20th Street will be renovated into a state-of-the-art central kitchen for CHI Health under a $14 million plan that will create hundreds of jobs in North Omaha.
The healthcare system is nearly doubling its kitchen staff as part of the project, which has been in development for more than a decade. Construction will begin soon, with the facility expected to open by fall 2027.
New facility to serve regional hospitals
When operational, workers will prepare nearly 3,000 meals daily for CHI hospitals across the region. The building has sat vacant for years before CHI Health selected it for the renovation.
