Fresh off of a two game winning streak against DePaul and Xavier, Providence (14-15; 7-11) went to Omaha looking to continue their recent trend of solid play, and were successful despite being undermanned, holding on for a 79-76 win over Creighton (14-16; 8-11).

The injury bug didn’t help the Friars, who were missing Stefan Vaaks for a second straight game due to the flu, in addition to Corey Floyd Jr., who remained sidelined due to his hamstring.
