City reopens traffic over repaired sinkhole site near Omaha’s Aksarben area

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha officials reopened the intersection affected by the Aksarben-area sinkhole on Thursday.

In a press conference Monday, Mayor John Ewing said the intersection at 67th and Pacific streets was set to reopen Thursday, advising drivers to use caution when traveling in the area ahead of the reopening. Traffic was moving through there just after 2 p.m.

City Engineer Austin Rowser said work by the Metropolitan Utilities District was done last Thursday, and the hole was filled with the paving reaching completion Monday…
