(Des Moines) — St. Albert survived a gritty and resilient performance from Exira/EHK-Audubon with a little grit and resilience of their own on Wednesday night, advancing to a third straight semifinal with a 45-37 1A state quarterfinal win.
“If you looked at the numbers, you figured it was going to be a close game,” St. Albert head coach Dick Wettengel said. “Our kids hung with it.”
