First batch of rails for Omaha streetcar delivered to downtown as construction squeezes businesses

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A Farnam Street cafe owner says the Omaha Streetcar construction has slowed business significantly since closures began, and she says the city is not doing enough to help affected businesses.

Caylee Murillo, owner of Flora Cafe on Farnam, said the impact has been immediate.

“Since Monday they closed, and we’ve just been so slow,” Murillo said. “I have to send employees home because I can’t afford to keep them here if we don’t have any customers.”
