Nebraska Weather Alert: 60 MPH Winds Could Trigger Blizzard Conditions Near Omaha Sunday

Omaha, Nebraska – Drivers across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa could face whiteout conditions and dangerous travel Sunday as a powerful winter system brings strong winds and blowing snow to the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday morning through late Sunday night for a large portion of eastern Nebraska and western Iowa, including Omaha, Council Bluffs, Fremont, Norfolk, Blair, and Bellevue. Snow totals are expected to remain relatively light, generally 1 to 3 inches, but the main concern will be north winds gusting up to 60 mph
