OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – St. Patrick’s Day is usually a big day for local bars and taverns. One neighborhood bar owner says he is expecting a big day in spite of the breezy, cloudy and cold forecast.
A bar with history
Gas was 10 cents a gallon when Alderman’s Bar opened in 1937. Mark McClellan has owned the place for more than 20 years. He is getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day, and the bar is all dressed up in green.
“There’s a lady who comes in — it takes her about six weeks to do it — and she meticulously puts all this stuff up there. It looks great,” McClellan said.
The neighborhood bar features a lot of the old non-green beers from back in the day…
