Omaha parks department issues 2025 annual report

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Omaha Parks and Recreation released its annual report on Tuesday, with Interim Parks Director Jake Linder calling 2025 “a year of progress and momentum.”

“From new pickleball courts and the Lee Valley sprayground to the long anticipated accessible playground at Zorinsky Lake Park, we continue to invest in spaces that serve residents of all ages and abilities,” he says in the report.

Projects & funding

The department had a $43.3 million budget for 2025, an increase of 8% over the previous year. It employs 163 people full time, and 960 seasonally or part time.

Lindner also highlighted the sports and activity complex at Levi Carter Park, which he said is nearing completion. The center will feature 14 volleyball courts, 10 basketball courts, four soccer fields, as well as meeting rooms, telehealth rooms, fitness and wrestling rooms, and a computer lab…
