OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Thousands of people contributed to the launch of Artemis II on Wednesday. A key member of the team hails from the Omaha metro.
Alex Brewer, a software engineer for Artemis II, watched the rocket he helped build lift off from Cape Canaveral.
“It’s quiet at first. The first forty seconds are quiet because the sound hasn’t reached you, so you’re sitting there and it’s like…you can see it going up into the sky, but nothing – you can’t hear anything,” Brewer said. “Then the rumble hits you and it shakes you to your core, and it’s an incredible experience with a rocket booster.”
