21-year-old man dead, another critically injured after striking tree in overnight crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – One man is dead, and another was seriously injured after striking a tree in an overnight crash in Atchison County, Mo.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it happened at 3:13 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, in Fairfax, Mo., at 310th St. and Route N. An investigation reveals that a 2013 Ford F250 was eastbound on 310th St. when it failed to stop at a stop sign, traveling through an intersection before striking a tree.

The truck came to rest on its wheels facing east. The driver, a 21-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, was pronounced dead on the scene at 4:10 a.m. by Atchison County Coroner Shawn Minter. He was found not to have been using a safety device at the time of the crash…
