Ricketts meets with Army Corps for update on Missouri River flood-control projects

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Sen. Pete Ricketts met with the Army Corps of Engineers in Omaha on Thursday to discuss flood control along the Missouri River.

Ricketts and Assistant Secretary Adam Telle with the Army Corps of Engineers led a roundtable discussion over ways they can improve flood control and response along the river.

Various organizations with interests along the river were represented, including the Papio Missouri River NRD. They talked about ways to improve the efficiency of flood control projects.

Ricketts had been critical of the Corps’ response to the 2019 floods that left four people dead and caused billions in damage in Nebraska. He supported changes during hearings on this year’s Water Resource Development Act…
